3. Website Content
The content on this website is provided for general information and portfolio purposes.
Images, renderings, illustrations, project photographs, descriptions, dimensions, materials and other examples displayed on the website may represent completed projects, conceptual work or illustrative examples.
They should not be interpreted as a guarantee that an identical design, material, finish, cost, timeline or outcome will be available for every project.
4. Enquiries and Consultations
Submitting an enquiry or booking a consultation does not automatically create a contract for design, architecture or execution services.
A project engagement becomes effective only after the relevant scope, commercial terms and other applicable conditions have been mutually accepted.
Where a consultation or other service is paid for in advance, the applicable payment and cancellation terms will apply.
5. Quotations and Project Scope
Project fees depend on factors including:
- project type and size;
- location;
- scope of work;
- level of design detail;
- number and nature of deliverables;
- site requirements;
- revisions;
- materials and finishes;
- execution requirements; and
- other project-specific requirements.
Any quotation provided by Shadowslane is based on the information available at the time of preparation and may be revised where the scope, requirements or project conditions change.
Additional work outside the agreed scope may be separately charged.
6. Design & Consultancy
Under a Design & Consultancy engagement, Shadowslane primarily provides professional design expertise, drawings, documentation, specifications and/or advisory services as agreed.
Unless specifically included in the engagement, procurement, contractor appointment, site execution, labour management, material purchasing and construction responsibilities remain with the client or their appointed contractors/vendors.
The precise division of responsibilities will be set out in the project agreement.
7. Turnkey Execution
Under a Turnkey engagement, Shadowslane may coordinate or manage design and execution activities according to the agreed project scope.
The specific scope may include design, procurement, vendor coordination, site execution, project coordination and installation, depending on the agreed contract.
Third-party materials, products, specialist contractors and vendors may be used where appropriate.
The client remains responsible for providing timely approvals, access to the site, information and decisions required for the project to proceed.
8. Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to provide accurate and complete information reasonably required for the project.
The client is responsible for:
- timely approvals and decisions;
- providing access to the site where applicable;
- providing accurate measurements, drawings and property information where applicable;
- disclosing relevant site conditions;
- making payments within agreed timelines;
- obtaining approvals or permissions that are expressly assigned to the client; and
- ensuring that information supplied by the client does not infringe third-party rights.
Delays caused by incomplete information, delayed approvals, site access issues, third-party vendors or circumstances outside Shadowslane’s reasonable control may affect project timelines.
9. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, design concepts, drawings, plans, 3D visualisations, specifications, presentations, photographs, written material, graphics and other creative work produced by Shadowslane remain the intellectual property of Shadowslane until the applicable fees have been paid in full and/or ownership or licence has been expressly transferred under the project agreement.
The client may use the final approved deliverables for the specific project for which they were created.
The client may not reproduce, resell, distribute, modify for commercial reuse, publish or use Shadowslane’s design work for another project without appropriate permission.
10. Project Photography and Portfolio Use
Where permitted by the applicable project agreement, Shadowslane may photograph completed spaces and use project photographs, drawings or visual material for portfolio, website, social media, marketing, awards, editorial and professional presentation purposes.
Where a project contains identifiable personal information or individuals, Shadowslane will take reasonable steps to avoid publishing such information without appropriate permission.
If a client has specific confidentiality requirements, these should be agreed in writing before or during project engagement.
11. Third-Party Products and Services
Projects may involve third-party manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, consultants and service providers.
While we make reasonable efforts to work with suitable professionals and suppliers, third-party products and services may be subject to their own warranties, terms, availability and limitations.
Where a third party is directly appointed or paid by the client, Shadowslane is not responsible for obligations that fall solely upon that third party.
12. Payments
Payments must be made according to the applicable quotation, invoice, proposal or project agreement.
Payments made through online payment gateways may be subject to the terms and processing requirements of the relevant payment provider.
A payment receipt or transaction confirmation does not by itself modify the agreed project scope.
13. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation and refund requests are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy and, where applicable, the specific terms of the project agreement.
Project-specific contractual terms may take precedence over the general website policy where expressly agreed.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Shadowslane will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or unforeseeable losses arising from use of the website or services.
Shadowslane’s liability in relation to a particular paid service will, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount actually paid by the client for that particular service, except where a different limitation is required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
